Hi
Please help,
I put the bike on the right hand side to remove the cover and replace the water pump seal, finished up and now the kickstarter is jammed, won't move, I tried to bump start and when you engage a gear even with the clutch in it drags.

it feels like it's got thick glue inside, and the kick won't move at all.

What have I done,

from the doc:

Kickstart fitment
The diagram in the parts manual shows the spring the wrong way around. Remove the outer gear for now.

Fit the straight part of the spring into the centre of the kickstart mechanism and then fit the hooked end into the engine case feeding it all in as one. Fit the kickstart arm and whind the unit 180 degrees clockwise until the 'keyhole' shaped ratchet piece goes past the high point of the crescent shaped plate. Now press unit down into the case and release. The unit will turn counter-clockwise and rest against the shoulder of the crescent. Now remove the kickstart and you're ready to fit the gear.

i look after you mate! despite the world cup!

regards

Taffy

Thanx Taffy, will do it now.

Taffy

would this also explain why the gears feel "gluey" ?

thanx, all working now, took me 3 times. now next problem.

hey, I have identic problem

so to re-fit kickstart gear I need to remove clutch, am I right?

thanks

you need one wingmen :D

one will be turning crankshaft with wrench, other will be pressing kickstarter gear till fitted

there is a big chance that gear will pop up again, you need to be very carefull

well... update..

I got the gear back in place and the kickstarter doesn't jam anymore.. but the kickstarter doesn't come back up by it self, I have to help it back up.... seems like the spring isn't strong enough - or just not tight enough..

What to do now? Turn the gear 180 degrees anti-clockwise or??
