Guys I plan to fit a 41mm Keihin to my '03 FE650 E. It is a standard bike bat the exhaust which is now open. As I want to buy it with basic jeeting that will start me off, anybody out there who can advise baseline setting for jetting, needle etc, etc. Your help much appreciated as always.

Regards, Roy

can i first of all say that i do shoot from the hip and also that i speak as i find. so if you find what i'm about to say offensive i'm sorry. i mean that. but i would like you to try just a teeny weeny widdle bit harder to look up the old posts to get the info.

click on 'forums', click on 'fuel' and off you go. also you may have heard that at the bottom of this post and in our 'downloads' section we have what is known as the 'owners doc'.

Taffy,

I am not going to enter into a game of chat room ping-pong with you...suffice to say that I find your remark a little patronising, if not a little motherly. If my thread is of no interest to you or if you find it disdainful, I suggest you do not reply.

FYI I did read the greater part of the "fuel" forum but could not find what I was specifically looking for.......just trying to save a bit of R&D time for myself and the rider I sponsor, that's all.....I shall not trouble you again.

Hi Roy:

You must understand a little about Taffy before you dismiss him. Taffy views jetting a motorcycle carburetor as a new age religion. Jetting nirvana cannot be attained unless a high level of commitment is exercised. He has been praying at the alter of the FCR longer than most and the words expert, jetting and Taffy can be used without reservation in the same sentence. You probably won't find a more committed Husaberg hobbyist than Taffy. He means no harm.

Husabutt,

I cannot, for the life of me, see where you read from my reply that I am questioning his expertise or commitment in any way????? My reply was and is aimed purely at his attitude to me. I stand firm on my comment.

In my own sphere I have heard the same questions asked over and over for many years at race car/bike meetings/shows etc. and although a little tiresome at times, my team and I have and do always find the time to explain to someone who asks a question, irrespective of how inane it might seem. He/she might be the next new customer, the next new competitor, the next new supporter or potential sponsor of our sport. And last but not least, that same person might also be able to help ME out one day.
