Basically, do we still have enough parts available to keep one of these bad boys together and functional?
I know this is probably the absolute worst year for these bikes but I'm eyeballing one for possible purchase. Looks to be in pretty nice shape from the pics. Specifically, I need to know if the engine parts are still available.

Sorry I was lazy this time and haven't done a search. Was hoping you gurus could chime in--or anyone for that matter.

As always any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Im no guru but all the known upgrades for the 01-03 models are for a reason. Premature wear and failures.
If I was to own an 01 it would be because I was willing to go through if not all, most of the upgrades.

Yeah, that's what my plan would have been but it's a moot point now as the bike sold earlier today. :(
It was California street plated too.

if you want a low mileage clean '01 (not running last summer), call fritz at gunnison motorsports.
you know you want to.

anyone catching this thread in the future: I have new 2001 intermediate shafts (known as the water pump shaft as well). it was only used in 2001 and early model 2002s.
