The problem:

Mine was leaking some drops of cooling liquid, so I thought i'd better wrench in right now. The fine crud on the back of the wheel didn't look very promising (German mine dust).
But the next photo shows a mixture of dust and sand:
Made sense that it started leaking. Just to be on the safe side, I replaced both seals.
Tapped some 4mm thread.
New waterseal but also placed new oil seal. That is best done when the waterpump axle is completely removed.
Put some teflon tape on the threads to make them seal better.
The endresult: no oil leaking, no water. Everything is ok now.
