The SUPPORT OHV!!! Rally or Southern Oregon Motorized Recreation Rally was a huge success. Thousands turned out to sign petitions and listen to some key personel speak about our right to public lands and what the BLM is doing with it's Western Oregon Plan Revision or WOPR. With media Coverage from the local News Channels our message was heard LOUD AND CLEAR!!! A rumor that the opposition was going to show up in force, never materialized, which is a good thing considering the numbers we turned out in. The local newspaper, which is known for it's anti-OHV stance never appeared to cover the event...BIG SURPRISE...and now with advertisers pulling advertising and cancelling subscriptions because of the anti-OHV stance, the newspaper is now trying to save face, what intersting is the following quote from the article...

"...but the association is taking the Mail Tribune and others who oppose the plan to task for what they perceive to be ignoring OHV users or distorting what is happening on the ground."

They even admit the Anti-OHV stance...

Not only did we see awesome numbers, it was great to get everyone fired up about the problems we face...With speakers like Senator Atkinson, Steve Croucher, Chuck Steahly and others, getting fired up was easy.

The problems we face are not just Dirt Biker problems but Hunting problems, fishing problems, Snowmobiling problems, even Hiking problems. If you have to drive to get to your favorite remote fishing hole, or swimming hole for that matter, your right to public lands are being STRIPPED AWAY....ACT NOW or never complain again.

Probably the most common argument we hear from the opposition is NOISE level...The MRA is working on taking that argument away from them by taking a stance and proclaiming that sounds levels are too loud and we support db levels to come down to 96 dba from the current requirement of 99 dba.

With some more hard work and EVERYONE's help, we can educate and ensure that our public lands remain for ALL to enjoy.

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT...help the MRA, join or at least offer assistance. Visit the MRA webpage for more details and how you can help.
