Hi guys, just picked up an '03 FE400. Just thought I'd sign up and say hello. Seems like a great place for info. I like the little skill testing question when you sign up to the forum... Has it been working to keep the idiots off? hehe.

Any way I'm in the greater Toronto area (Ont,Ca). Been browsing the forum for a few days just looking at the manual and everything trying to get to know what I'm in for hehe. My first bike in 10 years. I had one when I was 15 (Yamaha DT200R) and traded it for an ATV (Yamaha Banshee). Thought I'd give it a shot again.

Now off to perform my first surgery on the bike, as replacing the battery looks like it will take some surgery to get at hehe.

Is there a post some one can redirect me to wiith info on the easiest way to get that battery out? I'm thinkin undo the shock at the top and slide it forward and some how wiggle the battery out from there? Man a removable subframe like my friends honda would sure be nice about now...

i think i removed the carb and sock and went that way...

Maybe i'll try the carb way if that works... Carb doesn't seem to close all the way some times... Gotta inspect it. Sounds like it closes but gotta pop it to close it completely while riding. Thinking it's a temperature thing. Kinda cold this morning.
