Just installed STM slipper. Feels exactly the same as stock

This is on an 05 FS650E. Same engine braking as before. I really was expecting some difference. Anyone?
Thanks.

My understanding of a slipper clutch is that they are adjustable. Basically you want to adjust it to the point where the rear tire does not skid on deceleration, otherwise it should feel like normal engine braking. The purpose being to retain engine braking, but not to the point where the rear tire loses traction and/or the rear suspension is 'upset' (like a hopping rear wheel).

So, can you skid the rear tire when downshifting?

When I installed few years back a slipper clutch on my 525, it was very noticeable.

1st clutch pull came into a new game, with very easy and smooth pull.

2nd, I could shift down 2-3 gears, drop the clutch out and never ever had a wheel lock or chatter. Just smooth engine braking and super easy slides into corners.
It didn't stop or ease engine braking, just didn't allow it to lock the wheel.

It was KTM OEM one, but I would think that every other brand should give similar results.

I have a suter, very noticeable..

Just shift down from 6th gear to 2nd or first in a row, then you'll notice it

I think it is an expectation thing. Having never tried a slipper I did assume there would be minimal engine braking. I sold my 950SM and bought the Berg to learn to back it in and added the slipper to that end. This my first "real" sumo. Maybe if I had the technique down already I'd feel the slipper working. I'll play some more and see if it is just so subtle that I haven't noticed it. I just got the bike and have only been on it a few days.

I thought maybe something was wrong with my install...

Another thing noted...

On down shifts I can feel a single pulse per gear through the clutch lever. Is this the hub rotating up the ramps to allow the slip?

I have not been able to get it to hop so I guess all is working as it should. Now if I can just force myself to crank it over and dump the clutch.

what kind of spring do you use in the stm ....kg ?
stm is very good slipper clutch i have used them in many of my bikes.

every bike / rider needs other springs (you have primary and secondary spring)

yes, when you over rev it and you get piston to valve contact. great suggestion that
