Why did I have to put a couple of extra washers under the two back bolts on my front guard so it would clear the frame.

Why is my rear tyre hitting my muffler even when I put extra spacers on the front mount.

Why does a dealer have to swap out some header tubes because the front tyre hits them.

Why won't the auxillary fuel tank I bought fit my bike as expected.

I know that sounds like I'm whinging and I know these are little things that can easily be fixed, BUT that's my point. WHY AREN'T THEY?

Anyway... when all is said and done, I really do love my new Husy... :D :D :D

1) Which guard are you talking about.
2) I have never seen or heard of the rear tire hitting the exhaust, must be that AP slip on your using.
3) The header problem was supposed to be remedied in 05. Are you sure you have an 05?
4) The aux tank has been around awhile (since 00 I think, at least). The bikes have changed, but the parts never really updated. The factory probably had bigger fish to fry in reguards to updates and problems in the past 5 years.
5) Yes it sounds like whinning :p . Unfortunately Husaberg does not have the resources that say, Honda has. They dont have 3000 engineers sitting around looking for way's to justify there existance on a day to day basis. I figure Husaberg has 10-15 engineers that are really overworked and underpayed. On top of that, can you imagine trying to design something mechanical with a Stoli hangover.....not good :)
6) I really do love your Husaberg too

berger,
I like your third point/question.

Chubba,
Like your Finke results. Did you see how fast Jimmy Ellis ran the veterans at Finke last year? 1st in Vet., 14th overall, 4H 51m.

Not a bad effort for an old fella......

On a yamaha of all things.........!!!!

Chubba,
If you take your front fender off and measure the spacers that fit in the molded holes of the fender, you will see that although they all may look the same length at a glance, there are two different sizes.Fit them properly and you will see that the correct fender to frame clearance is realized......nsman

NSMAN... I'll check them spacers out... washers working OK though. Put a smile on my face when you said that they look almost identical. Just put some clear WP Fork Leg protector stickers on my bike. Helped my son with his first on his 525, looked the goods. Put the first one on my bike and guess what, we had some overlap at the back. Then a closer look at the remaining sticker we noticed a very small taper to account for the taper on the fork tubes. TAKE NOTE EVERYONE...These suckers are left and right sided. Just flucked it on the 525, not so lucky on the 650. Anyway, have a very distinct bike now.

AUSBERG... Yeah, Jimmy Eliss, what a legend. That's a great time. Phil Lovett was supposed to race the year I did but hurt himself practicing. I reckon he saw I was racing and just chucked it in HAHA (I wish). Got the holeshot out of Finke on the second day then just over the Finke River saw some money on the track and dived off my bike to get it. Came away with saw shoulder and a headache but tough'd it through for 3rd. That's not bad for an old semi retired Real Estate Agent.
I tell ya, that service road next to the track was lookin real good.

BERGER... It's always the little things that get to ya. Tires hit original muffler as well as the Akrapovic with extra spacers. It's all good...

I'll whings no more

Brett

Hi Chubba,
Just to satisfy my own curiousity, how long ago did you run Finke and what Bike? The Phil Lovett reference is a rough time clue.

Have you seen how long some of the whoop sections are now ? mile after mile after mile after mile of them.

I can understand how the service road would be tempting. Pity about the hidden checkpoints though!!!!

I rode the 2002 Finke and came second to Terry Billet from SA. Should have called him Terry Bullet. Guy was 6'5" riding a trick CR500 and very quick. Bugger...

Thought I'd go for a win in 2003 then retire a legend. HAHA
Was only 3 mins behind the leader after day one. He had big blisters and no back brake and I thought I had Ist place in the bag and then got spat off on the way back just over the Finke River. Bike wouldn't start. E Start wouldn't work. Chain was bound up on the rear sproket. Bull dust everywhere. If it wasn't for 4 spectators getting me going, I would still be there.

Bike was a 520. Did both Finkes on it and that was the only prob I had.

Don't you just love the whoops. Some of those suckers are about a mitre deep.

Will take the 650 to the 2006 Finke.

2005 is the 30th Anniversary... I'll keep an eye on your times.
Send me a PM.

Catch
Brett
