I've taken the liberty of scanning a recent interview with Joakim and put the pages in my album (and if its against copyright its only for my personal use - blah, blah).

Enjoy!

OMFG! on the first page of the interview, it states he "attended the Swedish Motocross High School from age 13-19" WTF!

RISKY.....Euro federations are on a completely different page than those here in NA. From schools that focus on their sport to fully funded ISDE teams with Dr.s, massage therapists, coaches etc the list goes on. Here in NA, our federations force our management to pay thier own way, no funding to the riders, and little or no direction in the sport....

sorry to vent...but you struck a nerve, and could you believe the kid is a World Champ!!! With an education. sigh

thats right one of the curriculum is to ride dirt bikes pretty cool
Hans Hansson used to be a teacher he is now retired ,he was the best enduro
rider in Sweden for many years with numerous swedish and european championships
to his name
Anders Eriksson is graduate from this school he has done pretty well over the years
the school started 1988 and is located in the heart of enduro sweden in little town called Tibro

later VIKING

It just shows how young talent can be brought on with the right environment and training, imagine going to school where lessons included theoretical and practical off-road/motox riding techniques!! the mind boggles eh!!

I don't think there is anything like that in the UK but I might be wrong - does anyone know different?

The MX-school is one of many sports program high schools in this country. It is a normal high-school with a twist. The high-school I went to had a swimming programe. In Tibro it is a MX-programe. In Ã…re it is an alpine programe and so on. The students select a normal education but then removes some classes and replaces them with the choosen sport. It is very popular and not many gets in every year.

If I understand correctly, Kim Hanborn is the first **** accepted. Here is a small video with an interview with her from the school.
