Hi everyone, new to the forum, just purchased a 99 FS600. It starts and idles fine, but stumbles when you give it gas.
The owner bought it new and said it never ran right with the stock carb, Edlebrock. He purchased a Dell Orto PHM40
and said had it jetted. He was cleaning the carb and broke the float so he put the Edlebrock back on. So I 'm going to pick up another float and was wondering if I should get some different jets. Most of my riding will be between 5'500 and 7000' but may go as high a 9000'. Can someone give me an Idea of the correct jetting for this altitude?
I'm also going to dump the gas, adjust the valves and put in a new plug, is there any plugs that I should get other than the stock one?

what did the "new" phm40 come off of? what jets are in it? needle, needle jet ? (new, old?). slide?

not really what your asking but I'd junk the dellorto and if its possible slap a keihin FCR on it.
I put one on a 03 400 I had and it just transformed the bike.

Well I figure I'll get the float and see what happens, I have been looking at some FCR's on eBay, not sure on the size and jetting.

when I did mine I just looked at what FCR's similar sized bikes were running and went with that to start with then adjusted anything I needed to, which wasn't much.
