Thanks

Hey Sandman, Dale Lineaweaver sells a jet kit that works extremely well.
You can reach him here: HSBG4ME [at] AOL.COM

bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, mr sandman give me a thrill!!!!!!!

sorry but i love that old tune.....

takis the greek has a lineawever needle which is marginally better than the keihin best needle. however, it's clear that in europe we don't need dale's #48PJ and a 38/40/42 is suffice. so if you do go for his needle - ask for a 40PJ the same as sparks uses over in spain and also if he does you a MJ i would insist on a 160MJ.

we have better fuels than the americans and need less of it. maybe in greece you have the 'fairy liquid' advert on TV as well? you need less of it to wash your dishes!!!!

regards

Taffy

If you're so inclined, Keihin FCR pilot jets and main jets can be bought for $4 each. Order or borrow a few over/under pilot and main jet sizes.

Depending on where in the throttle range you feel the motor has issues and spark plug color should tell you which jetting area (pilot, main, needle clip pos) needs attention. The best diagnostic if available is a dyno run that gives you Air/Fuel graphs in addition to HP/Torque graphs. You want your Air/Fuel graph to be almost flat and hovering around 13.5:1 area.

My 05 FS650E stock jet sizes were a 48PJ, 180MJ. The bike ran good but I was having some boggy throttle response issues at 5-10% throttle. In my case seat of the pants testing and a dyno run confirmed my jetting was too rich. With a little experimentation I ended up using a combination of a FactoryPro emulsion tube, a 38PJ and a 158MJ, needle clip pos #3 and now carburation is spot on. :)

FactoryPro High Dispersal Jet (Emulsion Tube)

Basically this emulsion tube has as series of pin holes along two sides of the tube. It helps better atomize the fuel into a mist as fuel is drawn up and out of the main jet.
