Would also like to ask, does the compression remain standard? it seems that way from JBS web site.
Is a high compression version available

Cheers spanner.?

your '02 wouldn't last 2 minutes with that thing in there finnar so FORGET IT. you need the later crank assembly with the 35mm big end and the far stronger rod. funnily enough i have one....

seriously though, there is a engineers clip of the old rod being put under pressure and it snaps off under the little end straight away.

comp ratio measured 0.1 less with the 105mm piston than with my OEM ELKO on the 80mm crank.

105mm piston squish measured 1.8mm

105mm piston weight 328gm, pin 80gm

won't be installing it for 100 engine hrs or so, maybe more, I just measured my OEM piston/linar 0.01 mm of wear on both at 200 hrs, gearbox is broke again, not the snap rings this time.

will do a post on the kit when its in, If I can't break it then it should be good :D

Ok
So this kit requires the later crank?

The crank from the 650 04-08?

Does this fit my 02 engine?

Or must i have the 04-08 engine?

the 628 crank and rod assembly will fit. you lose 1mm of throw (2mm of stroke) but the rod is 1mm longer which helps keep the piston up where it belongs.

i have a crank here. in DCRs opinion the earlier cases from 2002/2003 were stronger than they were later on.
