well had a very enjoyable day.

Able to say that now i'm at homes.

10 mile forestry lap with long Mx'ish special. typical welsh forest of ruts, whoops climbs and a couple of really steep descents, pretty dry with only a few mud holes and even some snow and ice at the very top of the course.

happy with the special tests though havent seen any times yet.

since my last trip to the states i've been much more confident jumping so attacked all the jumps on the special test.

had a few issues with the last 3/4 of the test which featureed some tighter corners, but the rest was fine.

dropped 7 minutes on the going which is a shame. gotta say 3 minutes was down to a silly off - not going fast enough - and then i knew i was late but instead of riding straight into the check i stopped to get my card out and the clock clicked over giving me another minute. doh!

the final four minutes were lost on the last lap which tightened by 10 minutes.
easily do-able if i hadn't had to ride the whole lap stood up with cramp in each limb.

Even my thumbs had cramp!!

bike wise the screws vibrated out of the rear light mount and it was hanging down the side of the bikes. 2 seconds with a wire snips sorted that. Though it was a bit annoying as i'd checked every bolt on saturday and they were tight. loctite next time.

also trashed a rad panel didnt even crash, got bounce off line and brushed against a tree. A branch went into the rad then deflected off of the rad guard and came out through the side panel.

got lucky there as i'd rather replace the panel than the rad

run the whole race on soft mode though the only thing i can say is that the bike seemed to be easier to ride if i was a bit aggressive with the throttle rather than trying to torque and be smooth.

on a wet day maybe that would be different.

right whens the next event

had the results thru i finished 49th overall.....

.....only problem is that was out of 52 :(

oh well that what comes of loosing 7 minutes in an event where the vast majority went clean on time.

test time wise i was about 15 seconds down on the boys i was riding with the previous weekend on the first test then closed the gap to 10 seconds for the second. all of which i reckon is down to a the last 3/4 of the test where i was having a couple of problems with some tight corners.

cleaned the bike tonight. other than the hole thru the rad panel, needing a new chain and sprokets and having to get some of those plastic bolts to re mount the rear light unit it seems to have held up quite well.

Ps

has anyone else had problems with the 6mm plastic screws coming out? and using loctite isnt going to effect the plastic is it?
