So I got the beast running, but it was running like crap. I was reading another post talking about a 1/6 of a turn on the valves was just right (forget the post or poster, but thanks a bunch). So I pulled it all apart again to readjust the valves.

Once apart, I set the motor on the compression stroke, adjusted the intake vales 1/6 of a turn. Cycled the motor, put it on the exhaust stroke, set the exhaust valves to 1/6 of a turn, bolted everything back on and BAM!

It's 45 degrees out right now, I pulled the choke, kicked it 3 times with the decomp lever, then it fired on the very first kick! Ran it for 3 minutes or so, cut the choke and it's all good. It didn't run this well when I bought it and has NEVER been this easy to start!

In love all over again! Now I need to figure out how the radiator fins go back on :) I see they are marked R and L, but I can't seem to figure out how they sit up in there. Anybody got a good picture of them in place? Thanks to everyone for the help.

Glad you got her a running. That might have been the problem all along.I don`t know how the rad. covers go on on your bike but the one with the R goes on the right side and vise versa. On my bike on the ends there are holes that you line up and put screws in to hold them on.The holes are out near where you mount the shrouds.Hope this helps and ride :D .

What I don't get is on one end there is only one speed clip, but two holes and I only took out one screw on each side. Then the other end has two pins, but I don't see anything for them to fit into. I will zip 'em for now and ride because I need to ride this bike while I can.

I think the pins go to the inside, facing the frame because that is what holds them on one side.I wouldn`t worry about the one screw to each side.My bike is the same, fit the screws in and check for looseness if tight or loose you can zip some more if you want.Later when you have time check it over good and figure out the best way to mount.
