So I got the beast running, but it was running like crap. I was reading another post talking about a 1/6 of a turn on the valves was just right (forget the post or poster, but thanks a bunch). So I pulled it all apart again to readjust the valves.
Once apart, I set the motor on the compression stroke, adjusted the intake vales 1/6 of a turn. Cycled the motor, put it on the exhaust stroke, set the exhaust valves to 1/6 of a turn, bolted everything back on and BAM!
It's 45 degrees out right now, I pulled the choke, kicked it 3 times with the decomp lever, then it fired on the very first kick! Ran it for 3 minutes or so, cut the choke and it's all good. It didn't run this well when I bought it and has NEVER been this easy to start!
In love all over again! Now I need to figure out how the radiator fins go back on I see they are marked R and L, but I can't seem to figure out how they sit up in there. Anybody got a good picture of them in place? Thanks to everyone for the help.
