In the news today.... Proton Auto from Malaysia divested itself of all its holdings in MV/Cagiva and Husky(almost 60 %) for $1 euro.It stated that the MV Agusta/Cagiva and Husqvarna brands was such a bad investment they were willing to sell their whole interest for $1 euro.It was stated that the motorcycle business was $107 million euro in the red.......OUCH!
....nsman

It's really a shame as the New Husky's look pretty darn nice. Especially their dual sport bikes, which are by the looks of it, 80% dirt, 20% asphalt

They are great bikes,I had a WR125 a few years back and I really liked it.I remember that when the Proton deal was in the early stages one of the companys that was said to have an interest in the husqvarna brand was none other than Husqvarna in Sweden, apparently it is generally excepted that selling the brand to Cagiva was not a good move.Who knows...now the time may be right...every cloud has a silver lining!

more info on this in a thread running on thumpertalk in the husqvarna forum. no big deal..... and those new 2006 street legal TE's are 100% dirt with some blinkers...they are not dual sports.

And dont forget the charcoal cannister on the handlebars  ....no really 8O
That wasnt you bidding on that TC250 on ebay was it bergler??

fear not it was MV that was draining away all of proton's resources. they were the real culprits. even the exotic sports bike market is now ultra competitive.

Taffy

Hi Berger ,

Wasn't me bidding. Still need to set aside a few more pennies :(
Maybe there will be some great deals out there . I don't think the
brand will be left to fade away.
