The 400 finally started. $450, 15 phone calls, and a few trepidations later, my bike is running. The "NEW" stator/flywheel is a joke. My old parts had less dings, scrapes and bare spots. BMG says that's how all the new parts look when they get them. Maybe that has something to do with all the reoccurring problems. We really need to come up with an affordable update kit. On a happier note, IT"S RUNNING!!!!!!!!! I forgot how great a husaberg sounds. A big thanks goes out to Moto Exotica, Bob Slipp at BMG, and Mike Hansen at Black Hills Cycles. Without their help I'd still be jacking around with it. Now I'm off to set the carb.

RE: it lives!

That's great news man! I hope it lasts a long time for you.

i had a mechanic civilian for a neighbour a few years ago who worked at RAF mildenhall. the best neighbour of the lot called 'jim' from rapid city. he had a thumb wrenched right around the corner. nearly 60-65 now and a true gent and kind man.

say hello to him for me!

It's like that. My stator looked like second hand too. It had marks from screws and the plastic cover ...
I am not sure still that I got a new one since it broke so soon. If the parts looked better on the new bike I don't understand why it should look like as a second hand part when you get a new spare part.

The people at BMG said"that's what they all look like. In my opinion, someone needs to find out if KTM/Husaberg is selling used parts as new. We pay way too much for these parts to get crap!

The people here in South Dakota arepretty nice. I've been here since March and most of the people I've met have been very friendly. Even when I rode my GSX-R to Sturgis.

I haven't picked up my stator I got instead of the one, which failed within three months of use yet. I have talked to the dealer today and he told me that this one looks like new and not as the two other they sent me before the summer. I accepted the first only due to that he told there was a warranty but when I reclaimed, there was no warranty.

However, if this looks totally different than the first two, I had right from the beginning. They were second hand directly from the storage and they wanted full price for them. If now heat and vibrations cause the damage as moister as well, a mounted stator and rotor are consumed.

Did it have marks from the screws? There could be marks from the manufacturing but if the marks are oval, they probably have adjusted the timing. Would you have accepted a spare part in that condition if it had been to your car?

I will report when I got the stator in my hand. It will take some weeks before I pick it up. Since I now know how Husaberg works and their attitude to customers I will take no chances.
