after farting around trying to figure out how to fit an fcr mk2 to my 03 400 so that i was happy, it is now done and i've just come back off an quick ride.

well chuffed carb looks as if it was meant to be there rode nice as well, tried every combination of gear and throttle that i could think off and no hesitation at all unless i whacked open the throttle in 6th gear at 20mph.

starting ok cold. good hot on the button.
kick, hot, a half hearted push of the kick got it going haven 't tried it cold yet.

will post pics and jetting latter. back out to play now. :D

below should be some pics.

this is the left side. had to cut the intake rubber 5mm, could do with being shorter but would have to get a longer length of pipe to connect to the airboot then.
looking to move the idle knob to the other side so i don't burn my hand.

this is the right side as i've bodged it up for a test ride.
need to get the correct cables and tidy up the battery and relay wires. the cover for the throttle linkage will fit on fine.
there is about 2mm clearance from the top of the started to the bottom of the carb so intend to put a strip of bicycle inner tube around the starter to prevent rubbing.
and yes i havent bother'd taking off the tps i'm just going to tuck it out of the way,

and my jetting is....

165 main jet
OBDQ R needle in 4th position from top. (stndrd 2000 wr400f needle)
42 pilot
200 main air jet
75 pilot air jet
65 starting jet
1 turn out of fuel screw.

will probably try out a 38 pilot and a 160 main at some time. other than that won't alter anything else unless i find something is not right.
ps. i know now't about jetting so don't take the above as some sort of announcement of the best jetting.

It fits very nicely. Good job.

As for the throttle assembly, what parts did you use?

Did you also redo the wiring to the starter motor and solenoid? Things look a bit different.

throttle at present is off another newer yam as are the cables hence why they don't fit. probably get the right cables etc next weekend and give the others back so the yams owner can go riding.

with the wiring only thing diff from stnd as far as i'm aware is that i've attached connentions for a battery charge. the little white wire going from the relay and the black one behind go to a connector unders the seat so when the bike is in shed i plug in a 12v charger that keeps it topped up.

highly likely that the wiring specs for uk/euro are different to US.
