Is this normal?

Ive bought a 2002 model year 650 and it is making this exact whining noise as in the video? Is it normal and if not what damage can it do? Otherwise it has 1400 kilometers on it and the engine seems in mint condition.

Cmon guys

. No one has any idea??? Ive been reading on the forum about some whining noises after changing spragues but this motor wasn't opened before. Also something in the owners doc about this in the amber alert section but not sure if this is the noise mentioned!!!???

my 02 650 started whining and it was my starter clutch i took it out and it stopped whining , luckily its my mx bike so its a kick start only and i have not repaired it yet but i think taffy sells a repair kit for them.

It gets less whiny as it gets warm. I was just wondering can it do any damage if I leave it like that.
