Is there a 250 "Hot Rod" in our future?

To all members,
With the release of the new KTM 250SX-F "Hot Rod" do you suppose there is a Husaberg 250 coming? The big three all came out and changed the world of MX racing. Is Husaberg going to join them?

Mackberg

My idea is that KTM tells Husaberg what their niche is and it does not seem to be the smaller thumpers, but rather the big guns. There has a to be a "nothing less than 450" clause or else we'd have seen a 250 4-stroke Berg already.

But what do I know.

if KTM are prepared to sell engines to beta and someone else (was it miaco?) then i'm almost certain that KTM will share the engine with husaberg.

KTM will be under a lot of pressure to help husaberg get themselves an entry level model. every time a customer walks ito a husey shop they must have a bike for that customer. no ifs or buts about it.

there is no way that husaberg are going to spend 10s of thousands on another new engine.

what are we scared of anyway! that it'll be a KTM? KTM have their way of doing things and husey have theirs.

expect the husey 250 in 2007.

regards

Taffy

I'll go out on a limb here and say 2008..... Husaberg seems to be a little slow getting their bikes on the floors compared to the other manufacturers. I have not seen a business yet that the bottom line is not about the almighty dollar!!! With that said, if Husaberg can make a 250 bike and make a profit on it, it will be so!! The Husaberg name is gaining strength and I predict a small explosion with the brand over the next three years..........

Regards,

If Husaberg will build a 250 I will buy one for my daughter (ok I will ride it too.) Hurry up Husaberg!!!!!

i don't know that KTM will spend big $$$ making a 250cc engine for Husaberg. the KTM motor might end up in a berg.

the current 'berg engine can't really be used as a platform. look what happened to KTM's original 250EXC 4 stroke. it was a dog, and too heavy.

Personally i think it would help 'berg immensely if they had a 250F. think of the doors it opens in terms of market share. at the moment they only really appeal to trail riders. Serious racers don't tend to ride 'bergs, and the supermoto market is small.

there is potential to sell a 250F in large numbers. also it would help raise the public opinion of the brand overall if they came out with something new that was fast and reliable.

Have Fun
Jeff

Heck ya, I would ride one too. Such a bike would be a perfect single track weapon in the tight stuff!

Regards,

I will bet they have their hands tied.(by KTM)
Any engineer up to times has got to be drawing up
plans for a 250f.One that is scaleable up to 350cc
would be what I would be doing.
