Im thinking about purchasing the tall seat for my '10 570. Is it worth the $139? How much rise in seat heighth? 1"?

Thanks for any thoughts!

I am 6'1" and have a Guts tall, medium density seat on my 09 FE450. It definately helps alleviate the cramped feeling.

I think the guts tall is taller than the husaberg tall, however I have guts tall/soft and it sinks down a bit and works well for me at 5' 11"

I am 6'2" and went with the Guts tall medium foam. I love it. I also put a Guts tall medium on my son's crf250x (he is 6'4").

At 6'2" the Guts tall soft is very comfortable. The stock tall seat is very hard, but, it serves it's purpose by not collapsing much when you sit on it.

I rode with the stock HBG tall seat for a long time, as I had given my stock seat to Guts for them to make the mold off of. They sent me the tall soft after they had finished with making that seat, and I left it in the box for a while before trying it. After I did, I thought myself and ***** for not putting it on sooner!

The Guts tall soft is so much more comfortable, that it is worth not having that little bit of extra height that the stock tall seat gives. And both are way better than the stock seat in terms of comfort for the longer legged of us.

I'm interested in this as i'm 6'1 but have freakishly long legs, I was thinking of getting the tall seat from HBG, as in the U.K. I think thats my only option? Is it worth the money?

I'm 6'4 and don't understand the big fuss over the tall seat. Unless you do alot of sitting down or ride alot of road why bother. Its better to reach the ground better than not in most riding conditions. Bar risers is all you need. The bike should'nt feel cramped at all. IMO.

Why bother?
When your *** feels like it's been hammered by a first year carpenter is why..
I've been using GUTs seats on my bikes for awhile now, no complaints- Tall soft for big fellas..
James(Renazco) makes a great seat, but he's too OLD to ride, at least that's what he keeps tellin' me...

I am an old school rider. I used to sit down almost all of the time. I have been learning to stand more each year. Now I am about 50/50. But because I am old I value comfort. The stock seat is like sitting on a 2x4. The tall seat is softer (I went with medium density foam) and it is easier on my knees since the transition from sitting to standing and back isn't such a strain.

But I'll agree not everyone needs one. If you are fine with the stock seat, save the money.

Sat on a friends bike today with the factory Husaberg tall seat, then straight on to a standard bike.
I think, for me, it will make an improvement to the bike just because my knees are less bent making it more comfortably to get forward on the seat and transfer to a standing position.
I will be buying one when funds allow.

My thoughts exactly. I had the tall SDG seat on my old KTM 525 and the ease of transition when riding agressive was very noticable. I stand most of the time, my bars are too the sky, so seat comfort is not too much of a concern.

Thanks for the comments all.

I'm looking for a taller but more comfortable seat?

On sunday i hopped on Arkley's old 501 and the seat felt 1" taller (on a standard bike) and yet the seat felt softer and better, you could feel it working. The standard seat just feels 'dead'. 200LB on the hoof....

I've got the HSG tall seat. I think it's 20mm taller and the foam is still firm, but it's much nicer than stock. I'm happy with it (getting 20% off from the dealer helps too).

I don't mean to misdirect this thread, but does anybody with an inseem problem have the short seat and does it make any difference?

After dropping my bike about 8 times on Labor Day, I am going back to the stock height seat. I am 6' 2" tall, with a 32" inseam. The Guts tall medium seat has been very comfortable, but I just can't reach the ground well enough when on a side hill. By the time I get my foot planted, the bike is leaning over too far for me to hold it up.

The stock seat is too hard for my liking, so I plan on getting a Guts medium density standard height foam.

I got a tall soft seat foam from gutz for my 05 fs650 and can hardly tell the difference in height swithching between the stock and tall soft on the fe550. Rode the new bike (fe550) labor day and was doing zigzags sliding around in the flat areas. Very easy transitioning left, right, left.

The soft foam lets you move on the seat much easier than the stocker. No need to lift and move over, its like a swivel kind of. I can move way over without thought or effort and move to the other side way quicker than with the stock seat. I have ridden the sumo on 5 hour rides without having to stand anymore.

I wanted a tall medium, but i brought my seat to their shop in diamond springs to check out the tall soft they had in stock.

I bought it, they installed it for free, and i picked it up the next day. I am very happy with it.
