Is my 501E really too big

Wow! This is exactly my story. At 47 , 5'8" and 155 lb,I decided to enter desert racing this year on my 501. I have never raced before, in fact I started riding only 3 years ago, so I wasn't sure what to expect. First few races I was just happy to finish, but later on I wanted to improve my position. I send my suspension for re valve and put proper springs for my weight and what a difference. Next race I won my class and in the next I was third. I couldn't believe the improvement in handling. Now I just have to learn how to use all that power of the engine.

Hey fano, glad to hear I'm not the only sad O G having a mid berg crisis. I too only started 2 years ago & happy just to take part, but now I want to improve. Still reckon the 501 is too big & heavy for twisty woods ???

Berger...is that an estimate....

In the tight stuff I had a 02 fx 470 and changed to a newer 06 450. I was shock how much faster the 450 reacted in braking and turning. I just sold a 02 400 that was great woods bike tons of power still. I love 2 strokes if you never raced one it would take sometime to get use too, well worth the time. Racing and ridding is great fun, changing bikes and get use to them keeps it fun.
