Hi there,

I just installed a pair of supermoto wheels on my new '06 Fe550 and I only now realized that the odometer doesn't read accurate now with the new set of wheels (17' vs 21'). I browsed the user manual but couldn't find anything on changing the size of the wheels. So, can it be changed?!... It'd pretty painful to live with such huge inaccuarcy of the speed gauge.

And on a side note, the wheels are simple, they have no cushing. Should I expect shorter transimission and clutch life?

Go to the ktm talk and they have a step by step direction for changing the wheel size. I did it but forgot how. I think you need to unplug one wire. Which one . I forgot.

Black wire, 3 pin plug, odometer side .Thats what works on earlier 03 & 04 KTMs and Bergs- should be the same for later ones too ??

how to change wheel size on odo

Okay, here's the scoop for the '04 625 WS settings... Basically, exactly as I quoted in the post above from the other member. Place a battery in the tripmaster computer ( mine did not have one) and disconnect the 12V source, which is a white triangular plug below the computer. Push the mode button and get to the speed/hour display, then hold the mode button to get into set up. NOW, you will see the WS symbol at the top right of the display. Scroll through each symbol until the WS symbol is blinking, then hit the "+" button and set to taste. After you have the correct wheel setting, press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds to reset to your new WS.

Re-connect the triangular plug and when you press mode you should see your new wheel size on the screen. You have to disconnect from the 12V source to make adjustments. Even with the battery in the computer, it will not display the WS symbol in the set up menu while connected to the 12V source.

Simple

I got this off the KTM talk site . This is the way I did my 05. If it dont work for you go to KTM talk and search on "wheel size" . lots of threads
good luck
