Stonyford was AMAZING! Perfect weather and it had just gotten some rain/snow.

Stony is rocky/rutted all over and has lots of big, jagged rocks in places too so I went to 18 comp on the front after the first ride and while still feeling stiff, was gentler on the small stuff.

I contemplated going to 20 or even less after the first day and playing with the HSCD on the rear, but I hadn't hit the really big stuff yet and wanted to see how it did there. Again, the faster I rode through the bigger stuff the better it did, only seeming to "Bounce" off the biggest rocks and ledges at lower speeds.

The next day I rode a little MX track and the same settings felt great and still not bottoming off a flat landing single so I think I'm on the right track here.

The bike and I still have some "communications problems" corning while standing, but I think that is mostly my inability to tell it properly what to do! If I find some cheap 1" risers I will likely give them a try.

Stony has some massive, loose downhills too and the front felt sooo much better! That was nice.

Maybe I'm just different. But as an example I am about 210 geared up. I hated the 48 fork springs that were in one of my 05 650s. Too harsh for me. I really liked the Suspension from Clean Racing USA . I had 44s in the front (42 was stock and spongy agreed). In the rear was the 8.1/9.9 progressive. Front forks revalved and set at 17/17. Air gap was about 100 so yeah a little more fluid. Cant remember rear clickers but that setup was awesome. I just like a plusher fork initially. I imagine the 46s would have been nice too but no way the 48s.
And when riding hard I would come within an inch and a half of bottoming the forks. Felt perfect
I also like my rear sag at around 103 to 105.

the valving is very harsh in the standard leg. you put a harder spring with harsher valving and yes, you are right, it is too much!
