Is it possible to put the cylinder head gasket in backwards?

nowhere near here
Just reassembled my engine. It runs fine now, but the valve rockers don't seem to be getting as much oil as they used to. I didn't check the head gasket when I put the head back on. Is it possible to get it on backwards without knowing? From the outside, the gasket appears to follow the head's contours. But if all the gasket's openings are symetrical, except for the oil channels, then I could have put it on wrong.

Anyone gone through this before?

Thx.

no, it's asymetric so you should be OK.

Thanks Taff. Good to know.

Now I have to figure out why the valve train is making so much tapping noise and a small screeching sound. I've checked the rocker arm clearances and they are in spec. So .....

is the cam pushed right in as far as it'll go?

noises will travel through the engine from one area to another. the clutch for instance...

camshaft is in so that the retaining plate appears to be in the correct slot. It looks like there are 2 slots for it. It's in the outer one.

Yes. sound could be coming from the clutch. I've got to check more on this.

thx.
