Is a Battery needed for headlight, indicators etc

Hi guys just aquired an 02 650 and has come with no light fitted etc just an led brake light and horn. Now its got no battery and the lad said it never had one. Its come with the original light and clocks etc but if i was to fit this along with indicators would it need a battery fitted as would probably be too much for stator to run or would it? Cheers for any help/guidance.

No, it will be fine. I ran my FE400e with no battery and everything functioned as it should when running.

Well got some oil in it and fitted standard headlight back on. Started it up and hey presto light was on and thought champion. However found when i revved it it would dim the light a lot, now i thought with a stator it was the other way around and dim when idling. Found if i switch high beam on only the dip beam dims when revved the high beam stays bright. Any suggestions what would cause this?
