I just installed IE 7.0 and had nothing but errors trying to access the site. I installed Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and no problems. And they say change is good

Berger, if you have a PM, then the usual "you've got mail" thing will produce an Active X error. From what I see, it is IE7's default security level which prevents Active X from working unless you change the security level for husaberg.org.

Any other issues that what I described?

So far IE7 is not so bad to me...

That could have been it...your also assumming I know what your talking about :D . Changing settings? I know it was pretty easy to change the browser :)

But whatever I do I cannot deactivate the ActiveX prompt for the "you've got mail" thing.

Even when I put http://*.husaberg.org in the trusted sites, and set security level to Low for this zone, allow installing unsigned ActiveX, etc... it still prompts.

That's why I asked if Jason could eventually remove it...

I have both IE 7.0 and Firefox and I haven`t had any problems. On IE 7.0 be sure to set your preferences that might be where your problem is. Might be a software problem somewhere or conflict. Don`t ask me how if this thing acts up I show it a big hammer afterward it does just fine for some reason  . Seriously I you might have over looked something.
Good luck
P.S. Must be the I-pod thing.
Check out cnet.com they have a lot of answers for problems like what you are having.

hey there guys,

I've been working on the blocks, and I've solved some of the problems, and will work on the pm next.

Irregardless of whether it's liked or not, you can't really have script that only works on some browsers, so the nifty little notice thing will have to be gone. I'll replace it with a bullhorn or something that causes your cpu voltage to spike, frying your computer's innards.

thanks,

Hey wait, Isn't froggy the only one who is complaining about the "youve got mail" thing? since when do we let the french run our lives!?

That "you've got mail" chime keeps many of us from driving our bergs head on into a tree.

may be you could record your own little .wav file and say something like "uncle shwimmy loves you, here is your mail" or "bobzilla and his sheep love you, here is your mail" or better yet just for those frenchies who want to run our lives, En français

"You've a obtenu le courrier, vous les Américains puants"

Is there an AOL chime on this site as well? Any dancing emoticons or flash fireworks when you misspell something? Clippy the paperclip pop up when you don't check the proper box?

thanks,

No, I just asssociate the "youve got mail" chime with AOL. since that was on every stinking commercial they put out...

I was just backing up my man, Lefrog.

I only turn the sound on while burning good old vinyl to CD for the use in my car.
So last weekend during such a session I was surprised someone talking to me
about UHE mail :D

I like Json's idea about the bullhorn 8) but personally would prefer a nice Berg
tune like shifting down into a corner with some nice backfire

Tested registration last night with:

IE 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 & 7.0 (XP & Linux) and all passed
FF 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 & 3.0(a) (Linux) and all passed
Epiphany (Linux) passed
Konquerer (Linux) passed
Opera (9 series) (XP & Linux) passed.

It's a simple form registration gg, so I imagine your problem was more of the fact that the mail server was having woes the day when you registered, if the case was that you didn't get your registration email. It's hard for a browser to mess up a simple form.

Just tried it again and it's working in Firefox 2.

However when I tried it before I did it directory after in IE and it did work when it hadn't in FF <shrugs>.

It's the intardnet man. By it's very definition, it's only supposed to work sometimes. The elves gotta take breaks, and when they do, forms usually don't work. Those work soley by magic, whereas a lot of other apects of the web have backup systems that will function off of real world technology if the magic craps out.
