Hi all, Im having a bit of drama with my 2011 fe570. Twice now I have hit the start button to fire it up and get absolutely no response, no fuel pump, no starter motor, no lights, nothing at all. I test the battery and it has good voltage, all the fuses are ok and its not wet or full of mud etc Both times I left the bike for a day and tried again but still nothing, then disconnected the battery, reconnected it and it fired up?????????? the same thing happened a couple of days apart.I have the map switch fitted but apart from that no other electrical mods except a different headlight bulb which was put in after these events. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas? one thing I did notice was my test light dims slightly when I was hitting the start button and getting no love from the machine so the voltage has to be getting somewhere. NFI!!

sounds like a bad earth or poor connection somewhere, mine had similar signs, it ended up being a loose wire in the loom near the shock, hope this helps

Check the starter cable right where it passes the oil return line just before the starter. Had that problem once, the cable was touching the oil return line, and wore thru the housing on the cable. Caused the power to go direct to ground when I tried to start it.

I had the posotive terminal on the battery itself fail. Check thats not loose in the battery case.
