Hi currently have an 02 fe501 and was wondering if any engine parts are interchangable with an 05 fe 550. Piston, sleeve and any others. Cheers

What about other internals such as main bearings, water bearing/seals, crank, I ask as dean501 is interested in purchasing a heap of parts I have, full list is in the classifieds
also to test your abundant knowledge will the piston/rings and sleeve fit a 450, I think the piston is the same size but as the stoke is different I am not sure if the sleeve is correct

Yeah sorry new member. Did a little research and found that the piston was 5mm smaller in diameter but you said the linar will fit in. Is it just that the linar is thinner to accomadate the 100mm piston. Thanks for your input its much appreciated.
In reverse I think the 501 (95mm) barrel fits in a 550 crankcase.
This becomes the 496 ccm engine, right?
I have a 501 barrel at home from my old 501.
I think a new coating is needed.
But this is a consideration for the further future, probably I do it never.

Just letting you know that i purchased the parts out of the classifieds on this site and they look great very happy with them. Im now in need of a headgasket but stupid me hadn't thought about the different sized piston and was wondering if my 501 head will still be able to be used. Thanks Dean
