Insurance heads up

My 2006 FE 450 is street plate and insured for the road.I went down south in March and forgot to renew my policy when I got back two weeks later I sent out the check and about three weeks later they sent it back saying that it had laps and the policy was cancelled. So I called my agent and she renewed the policy right away and had me send out the check to her office and not to State Farm. Two days ago I get a call from her office saying that Husaberg does not come up in the system as a model anymore and that the make is not in the data bank. She called head office in the US and same problem.

So what we did is we tried to use a FS model no luck so we called it a KTM make and a Husaberg fs 450 as the model and the system took it go figure.Just thought I would pass this info along.Anyone else having any trouble like this?

My Geico policy is up for renewal and I am going to add the 09 to it so it should be interesting to see how they handle it.

Thanks Fedge for posting so I will have the fix in hand if there is a problem!

Buggers did the same to me with my 09 570, it wasnt recognized on their list of bikes because i bought it in 08 and the one insurer that allowed it then charged me more than double !
Also beware of slight changes like fe to fs or calling a 570 a 550 so it comes up on their list.
Its all ok until you come to claim then they wont pay up!

Just re upped my liability insurance with Geico.

No problems with Husaberg brand name.

Both the 2001 and the 2009 insured for $102.00 for a year. I think that's a smokin deal !! Just the 2001 was $97 so only $5 more to add the 09.

Which reminds of the only year I ever insured a bike, 1973. There was a big step in excess at 500cc so on the form when it asked for capacity I filled out 498cc which was what it was. Made a claim and they got the *****, saying it was classed as a 500. But the form said capacity! I won in the end and decided not to bother insuring again, and self insure. Well ahead now.

Yeah, Geico is a company that understands that you can only ride one bike at a time.

When I added the Husaberg to my Ducati (full insurance, no med), it was only $205 more per year.

I had to laugh when they asked if it had 'anti-theft' devices. I said no. I didn't tell them it had no key or lock. :D

When the asked me about the anti theft device I asked if a big honken cable with a kryptonite lock counted. LOL!
