Insurance advice - Australia

Hey howzit?!

I just got my 2008 FS650 E Berg a few days ago. Since this is my first bike here in oz I have absolutely no idea which insurance company i should use. My car is with amii but according to their website they do not insure motor bikes at all...

So please... tell me which insurer u use for your berg.

Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

pleeasse I really need to know... everybody riding the berg without insurance? i dont think so!

Shannons or Western QBE
I have been with both over the last couple of years, currently with Shannons as there cover is good, have an agreed value, $3000 cover for protective gear and they give you first right of salvage
The cost of full comprehensive cover is pretty good and I have found by having the full cover the green slips are about $100 cheaper
So for me it really only cost around $300 a year to have the bike fully covered even for off road use, not competition though

i had my berg and a few KTMs, and R1 etc all with Swan Insurance.

You can call them 1300 307 926 but i think you have to start the policy in person at a dealer who represents them (doesn't matter where you buy the bike)

I found them to be pretty good on price and easier to deal with. Western QBE and Shannons are a lot more restrictive (eg limited use and security requirements a lot more stringent)
