Hey !

So i got my autodecomp for my 02 by mail today :)

My question is how hard is it to install it and can it be done without taking out the engine ? Ive worked on engines before so not a total noob but dont want to start tearing it apart and do something stupid. and iam guessing the camshaft needs to come out or is it possible doing it whithout ?

it's as hard as you make it. doing it in proper order is easy.
question is: which decomp did you get?

Hey ! So yeah its a taffy improvment =)

thanks i saw that video but thats when its allready apart from the engine.

so iam guessing tdc and remove the chain and then reinstall and check clearance when done. anything else that i should be aware of ?

so apperently i allrdy had an autdecomp installed. my problem now is that the starter is not turning around enough for it 2 start.

so could i have an issue with the coil itself or any ideas of what the problem might be ?
i can start it with the kick but it takes a few tries and iam not sure i got the "feeling" for the kick yet. i got an iridium spark and fully charged new battery with increased power.
what i have seen is that i get no spark when i try the kick with the sparkplug hanging outside the engine against the engine. so anyone got any idea what could be my issue ? all ideas are welcome at this point =)

edit: the autocomp is modified 2 have a better decomp than original also

you need to measure the resistence between the green and black wire which should be 165 ohms and then the red to black which should be 2,750 and is the one that is likely to fail. if these two readings are correct, try to just have those three wires connected to the coil. let the other black, grey and the white hang. with the oraange, cover it in tape as it is the kill wire.

then try and start it.

then kick with the plug cap off and holding the end of the HT lead 5-10mm from the head bolt.

just because you have an auto decomp doesn't mean that it is set right?

cheers

Taffy
