Hey all, In my recent valve check i pulled the fuel line apart and see this:

I was very surprised! This is the upgraded 20 micron filter I had the dealer install prior to delivery and thankfully they gave me the 2 extras that the kit comes with.

I'll be swapping a new one in when the bike goes back together. One thing though was that I did not notice any real issues w/ the bike prior to this.

The only thing I can think of is that the line got squat in a crash somehow and bent it in.

Either way, surprised i was!

Ow :Þ

I haven't looked at those parts, it's not possible that it was sucked into that shape is it?

yes it got crushed like that by the pump or the cone shape lost it's strength and buckled inwards. purely put in with a buckled side and then it was easy for it to fold.

just a guess

So i think i know why this was damaged...

I'm done with my valve check and putting everything back together. Tank is on and putting new filter in.

I found the filter on the left side of the hose/opposite side of the quick disconnect.

I assume this is where it goes? But when I put the new one in, and reconnect the line/hose it's difficult to get the hose to connect/snap.

I can see the filter doens't sit flush on this side (as the pic shows) and maybe the dealer squat it like this forcing the lines together?

Can someone confirm this is the correct place for this?

thx!

No, it should be at the other end of that hose where it's connected to the injector assembly.

But really its right place is in the trash bin.. Buy a 10 micron golan filter instead.

thats what I was thinking as well Jon.

Altho i thought I read somewhere on here that mentioned it in this location based on some later information from husaberg.

but with how this fits, it just doesn't make sense at all.

I'm looking into one of the fuel socks for in-tank and may just ditch this inline filter completely.

Fuel sock is a good thing to have regardless of filters.

You do have a filter on the pump and another filter inside the tank after the pump, but none, including the sock, are 10 micron. I suggest you, in addition to that sock, buy a mini golan 10 micron to protect the injector. It's a very good filter that can be cleaned and you can install it downstream of the quick connect.
