inlet rubber stopped

the Husaberg site is saying that the inlet rubbers up to 2004 have all been stopped. so we need to find another rubber between us that fits.

I'm assured that someone had the perfect match out there a few years back when he went to a breakers and found one.

alas he forgot to find out what bike it was off!

however it might be worth persuing - I think it was off an XR and that means a 400, 500, 600 or 650. and it'll be for a Jap carb.

the dell ortos have two lips/grooves on some and one on others. the two rings/grooves are going to struggle.

anyone prepared to chase down a coupla these inlet rubbers? I can't even buy them aftermarket over here so.....not easy

Taffy

I replaced my inlet rubber with a used good one i got from ebay, i thought it was for an 06 650, im sure it was a 650 but maybe it was 04, it was an exact match, i repeatedly sprayed it inside and out with armorall for a week or so before i put it on and spray it down again eveytime i take it off, im guessing it was an 04 though or you wouldnt be asking the question......what do i know though you got more berg time under your belt than I....ive never even seen another husaberg except in pictures......

Hi

Fortunatly I have a spare one new 8)

I don't think that the XR is the one Taff, I have in the garage one XR 400 and I will check.

When I fitted the FCR on the 400, I tryed to change the rubber intake and I can tell that its no ordinary rubber, what I can do is to try to repair them, since manufacturing new ones its not worth it because it would need matrices to do it. But its duable.

OK it was confirmed today by KTM UK that there is defo no inlet rubber. they've stopped making it.

it will be sadly missed if we don't find anymore....

If you have some rubbers, that are not good, send me one, so I can try to repair.

it seems the factories are all starting to phase out the metal/steel intake pipes. but i noticed on a suzuki dr650, which is still in production, they are offering a replacement. iirc, from the dr i sold recently, it is about the same size.
another solution (for me at least) is to scrape off the rubber and weld a pipe on the base so can use the later intake rubbers.

i'm cheap. i've already got the welder and tubing.
