Hi

My advice would be for you to buy one aluminum intake in Germany, then use one 04+ rubber, or some kind of pipe.

I can try to repair your intake for you, but can't promise anything because it's a difficult type of rubber.

It's in Germany and you can order on line - schleenbecker

If you want to try you can send me yours for me to try, free, if it comes ok .. Or not

I like your confidence log but you did read that these are no longer being made didn't you?

a perishable item - one of the first things they've stopped making....

Threadjack.,.

Are the earlier breather hoses around still? I'd like to cap the rear one on my 05' and use the single breather pipe.

Anybody have one, or a source for a new one? (any length will work as it's for a 650)

Shoe Goo works well and bonds to the rubber/nitrile/buytl/vinyl or whatever it is. It would get you back on the bike for now I think. Scrub with dish soap, hot water and a brush first and warm up the shoe goo in the sun.

I also use it on the bottom of the seat on the cover where it rubs on the tank. And of course, to patch the holes in my shoes.

yes they're still about JUST. can't be hours/days to go for the old ones but as you know - blanking the later one isn't exactly going to kill you.

Thanks Taffy, I'll pick one up. When did the valve cover add the second outlet? I just need to know what to ask for.

Regarding plugging the rear;
Yep, I've done that, but I'm taking it off every time to make tappet adjusting easier. Unfortunately it cuts it's lifspan dramatically.

I think the single breather would help me get the spanner in there without taking it off.

I really need to just weld some ears onto a 10mm socket for valve adjustments. It would be a fine tool for the job.

Back on topic, I had some checking on the upper part of the y-pipe. I scrubbed it up with a nail brush, hot water, and dish soap. Then warmed up a tube of "shoe goo" in the sun. I burned it in with a finger, then applied a few thin coats untill it was 3mm or so thick.

I rode it the next day and now it's got 50 hours use. I can't even peel it up where it's thin.

It might work on your boot hultz, at least long enough to ride it a bit while you source a replacement.

I think (I don't look most things up - just memory) it was either 2004 only or 2004/5 only.

hello !

i have ordered the manifold from germany ! but not recived it yet :)

I have just received the 50 inlet manifolds that I ordered to be manufactured.

they are a beautiful bit of kit and fit perfectly. I'll be selling them with or without a later inlet rubber from the 2004-8s to go with it.

talk tomorrow about it and get some photos up.

I have put the inlet stubs on ebay in two guises:

dell orto tend to do that and keihin barb them a little more so instead of a 'U' like dell orto it is a "?" (a tick) "?"

don't worry, I tried the rubber on the manifold and the barb is spot on!

but thanks for asking!

Taffy

Do you use the new rubber with the Dellorto also ? or this is just for the FCR converstion ?

ZAGA

oddly enough it is both.

a dell orto is what i did it for and luckily a dell orto goes straight in the back of the rubber made for a Keihin and pulls the carb in nicely so there is no gap or lip.

the difference is that there is a spare groove around the carb that is unused.

Taffy
