Can anyone offer some data on this bike. Had a 02 FE650e and now found a new 05 FE550e and need some info before I buy. Thanks guys!

Looking for something just a little bit more technical.

Like he said....."buy it".
The carb has been sorted to the FCR. The ignition has been sorted , no more SEM. Suspension and frame geometry sorted. Build quality is better (Austria).
Reliability is much improved as well as starting.
The 550 should eat the 650's lunch up to about 80mph.
Any specific questions?

Thanks berger, that is the stuff I'm looking for. :D
My old 650 would not start via the e starter unless the engine was warm, do you know if that would be true on the 550? How about larger fuels cells, does anyone make them? :?:

They start on the button now. BOSS has a 4 gallon tank available. You will probably want to update the kickstart lever to an 06 with the 4 gallon tank. another plus with the 4 gallon tank is that you can run an OEM fan on the bike, you will just have to find away to mount the thermostatic switch.

Taken from the owners doc on the left of screen:

Husaberg Models, Year: 2005

Higher sweep which raises your elbows, is straighter and feels better. Bike now sports titanium valves for FC/FX but steel still for Fe's. New graphics but is generally accepted as a year of less radical change. Completely new exhaust said to aid power. Phenomenally strong battery means they all start on the button from cold. 450 soft off the bottom end, no KTM-type wheelspin but appears to be the first year without even medium type 'faults'. FCs get an adjustable steering stem ala KTM allowing the trail to be adjusted 2- 0 +2mm. FS gets the 17mm triple Clamps: the first time a modern Husey isn't running the standard 22's. The 650 gets a reduced stroke by 1mm to make it a 628cc.

:D Again thanks for the info berger!!

 Looks like I need to spend some time looking a little harder, thanks philis.

Buy it!

I love my 550/06.

with a good setting of the carb (here from the doc), it´s a great bike.
I have the radiator fan with 95°C Thermo switch, Akra Slip on, Skid Plate from Kunzinger,
and now the Taffy valve kit.
On Saturday will be the first ride this year - the snow now smelts in the bavarian forrest too :))
