I'm sure this has been covered...

but I can't really find it.

I want to put a 1999 e-start motor in a 1996 kick frame. From looking at the spare parts manual the only difference I could see in the frame is in the way the engines mount. Is that true? Unfortunately I will not have the new bits for another couple weeks to a month. I'm just trying to make plans now. I won't be getting the whole motor, just the bottom end but I'd rather not have to tear it apart to get at the bits I'd need. That and I really wouldn't mind electric start someday.

Thanks

RE: I

there is a big difference in the downtubes of the estart frame, they bow out to clear the starter which is front mounted on the early motors.

It won't fit. The e-start frames are larger at the engine cradle to accomodate the extra length of the e-start motor.

Thank you for the replies, just curious but does anyone have a picture of that area of the e-start frame. I'm fairly confident I'll just stick with the kick start cases but if there's anyway I could get the other bottom end in there and subsequently the oil pump I think that would be nice.
