Hi bergiefe400,

In Europe we use leather suit for supermoto but in USA you can use also an off road suit for enduro or motocross as I know.Helmet boots and gloves are also necessary. You propably have racing rain tyres. They are good for rain and very soft propably, you can start having fun with them on track but they were end soon I think. There is a possibility not to be so soft and this its up to the hardness type.I wish you good start with your supermoto!!!

bergie,

it's probably not worth trying to rub off the not for highway use - and it's not really worth using them on the road either, they'll chew up, basically.

Maxxis do various types of road use tyres, as do Michelin and Avon and others. Specific types are always a bit of a personal thing though. Search this forum for a thread that goes through a few.

If racing over here you will need a proper set of leathers.

The UK supermoto forums, where you'll get loads of advice on tyres, prices, tracks and racing and such are:

www.supermotard.co.uk

All the best,
Simon

thanks very much sotosberg and simon.
do you know how much a set of leathers is because you need a 1 peice suit, or am i wrong?

That expects from how much you want to give.I think that ebay is a good start but maybe in your local stores can find something interesting and in good price.Iin this section you have a lot of choice .If you want something realy special you can try buying a GIMOTO suit that will be fixed specially for YOU by measuring your body.

This is the gimoto page: http://www.gimoto.com/

bergie

you really want to try the leathers on if you can? if you are a regular fit then it's not a problem. they can be quite cheap nowadays.

You need to check with the race organisers you're going to race with. Some will allow you to race with a two-piece zip together set. Having had a two-piece with full zip round pull apart in a crash, I wouldn't use them but it's a choice you make for yourself.

As taffy says, you need to try on the leathers before buying - fit is rather important.

theres 2 problems!
1. long legs
2. long arms

RE: Re: RE: Re: im new to supermoto, need some questions ans

Long legs seem to be good for 'Bergs due to the tall suspension and lefty kicker. Seems like most people have to stand on something tall with the right foot to get the height and force to kick with the left leg.....unless the elctric starter works of course.
