Hi all. I have a 2005 650 fe and I have a pin hole in the water pump cover. It looks like it should be there( is this right) and it is weeping coolent.
Is this a major prob or a quick fix

Thanks for any help:D

The weep hole is there to let you know when it is time to replace the water pump shaft seal. It looks like it could be time. It isn't a huge job but there are a few things to keep in mind when disabling and re assembling. if you decide to tackle it yourself there is lots of advice here.

Thank Kayeffess

I was praying it was something normal and not a season ending breakdown

Hi Rabbit

there are so many threads on this topic

this is what I do about the water seal

in the past Ive used a 6mm wide seal sanded to 5mm wide no problems, there is plenty of room between the seals you just need to make sure the impeller is clear on the water side

FWIW i now use a 2007 KTM65 seal it seems to be made of a nicer silicone rubber
