I don´t know the exact curve.Hey all, new to the forum here, does anyone know the ignition curve of a 2002 fx470e? I’ve been told that all bergs from 99-2003 had the same ignition module. I’m picking up a 2002 today and I’m trying to come up with a new ignition solution
Thanks!
I’m mostly dealing with a stupid owner, they left their wiring harness out in the rain and I don’t believe it works, however I just discovered that the engine hit the exhaust valves so I don’t really know where to go from, 470 parts are a little too sparsefor the two years the 470 was in production, the parts book offers the same I.M for both the 400 and 470 so so much for precision.
If you need your I.M repairing I can get that sevice dne for you.
You need a new line on the flywheel and then use a strobe light to time the engine correctly.
Go to taffmeisters Facebook pages, then videos and you'll see I've done videos of how to time them correctly. that done, keep the water out, they are fine.
You gotta watch for stupid owners LONG BEFORE you need to worry about the ignitions.

Is it worth it to redo the 470 or should I just toss in the towel on it and buy a different engine? I told myself if it was more than $1500 I’d swap in a drz400 engine and just bore/stroke it, but I’d hate to lose the cool factor of having the Husaberg power plant. Is there such thing as cheap Husaberg swap?30mm exhaust valve was longer in 2001-2003 than later.

the 470 is a dreadful engine and each owner passes their **** onwards. get rid of those single valve springs and go to dual springs. you'll still have valve bounce though and whule the exhausts can take it, the inlets tulip badly and need refacing plus seats cutting. it never stops on the 470.
