what class you guys racing? i signed up yesterday for AA  so i can ride on the same minute with a buddy who is racing LOI 125 class. in all likelihood i'll be racing my 250sx, but i'll probably take the husaberg too. i plan to take off a few days, and probably get there late tuesday night and try to do some riding on wed and thur to get used to the terrain (which is somewhat different than eastern nevada).

i plan to camp at the same spot i did last year, about 2 miles or so upstream of town and across the creek in a big open area. the course frequently goes right past there. kinda fun when you're already showered and sipping a beer in the sunshine to watch the poor guys towards the end still struggling in. heh heh. of course that could be me struggling in.

Velo,

I signed up 40-49B, my friend Tim signed up 40-49A, and I'm not sure what Cheeseberger signed up as. Give me a shake of the cowbell when I ride by late in the day while you're sippin your beer! Who knows, maybe I'll be able to join you.

I'm not sure where I'm planning on staying just yet. I was thinking of a rv park with hook ups. My friend Tim's son Matt was going to get back to me with some info as he now lives in Boise, and has friend who frequents the area. Do you know of, stayed in, any rv places there?

I also need to do some research about how everything works at one of these events. I've never done an event like this.

Thanks for the well wishes Rick!!!

I'm hoping to finish both days and I think that means coming home with a bronze which would be great!!

not sure if there are any hookups up there. if there are, you'll want to make reservations right away. idaho city is a tiny place with mostly dirt roads and one little country store.

i'm a cheap bastard, so if i can camp for free, i can do without the hookups. i have a catalytic heater (shouldn't be needed) and solar panels, so i can dry camp a long time, i just can't run the microwave.

good that you're doing the long course. you'll have a hoot and a half, guaranteed.

Hi Velo,

Thanks for the advice and positive words.

I took your advice and just got off the phone making reservations at the Rocky City Manor Trailer & RV park, which is also the home of the Gold mine restaurant Bar & Grill. She told me they are located about 3 blks, and less than 5 mins walking distance from the gas station which is where they usually stage at. I may have to go up a day early and see if I can get some fishing in!!

UPDATE

The idaho city qualifier saturday event is now closed to all but LOI riders.

Sunday still has entry space left for the "doing it for fun" crowd.

And all entries will close May 22, or until the 300 riders limit is reached.

There is a good write up on the event here: http://www.motoutah.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=493
