I want a 7.5 litre tank

should fit your 06, from what I know there is no changes to the frame/mountings etc on the 08. only BNG, suspension dampening and ignition curves.

All tank models from 2000 and onward will fit all bikes from 2000 and onward !
Just keep in mind to get the right shrouds to fit whatever tank you choose. Seats and rear fenders are also the same. Mix and match just how you please.
I have the dark blue +06 tank and a dark blue seat from my FS -06 on my FE -04 for instance, see attachment (in SuMo outfit).
The new smaller 7.5l is only available (at this point) in yellow. I have complained about this to the 'international sales manager' David but he didn't have anything to say about the colours. I can't imagine that yellow will be the only colour in a near future. The expensive part is making a mold, just to put another colour shouldn't cost big bucks.

Thanks Jocke, I'll wait to see if they add more colors. I don't really want a yellow one.

Don't you think that the FSC will be fitted with the small tank from the factory?
Nope !

To me it sounds absolutely obvious that the FS-C should have a black 7.5 l but unfortunately they get the normal dark blue 10.5 :(

Jocke D,

Is that really dark blue?? or is it semi opaque black?? - looks black to me.

Azza.

All newer tanks, and seats, are so dark blue that they appear black until you have them next to a black item like a rear fender or radiator shroud. Newer means 06 and onwards.
If you consider them black you're not wrong but not 100% right

The opaque look in my attached pic is from the lighting in that shot.
In this attachement you can see what I mean more clearly....

Yep, got ya.

as good as black anyway I think. - I'd love to have my '05 look like that! or better still have another one like that in the shed (slicks and all) sitting next to my '05.

They are currently on b/o from HSB NA. They are crazy expensive!! I dont think many guys will be buying them at the retail price they have listed.

Only the 08 FE have the small plastic 7,5 l tank and only in yellow color.I dont know if they are planing to produce a black or dark blue version but its a very nice idea.I would suggest you to istall an omero moto alluminium tank. The supermoto factory team use them and I have seen a lot of national teams that they use them on their bergs. If you are thinking to buy it new buy the small version of 5,5 l and not the 7,5 l.Its just 32 euros expensivier than the 7,5 l version.

Try those links:

for 5.5 l: http://www.husabergitalia.it/moto.asp

for 7,5 l: http://www.omeromoto.com/special_parts.htm

The only bad thing with the hand made alluminium gas tanks is that you will have to remove the small tube of the engine breather out in the inlet valve side because the Italians design it for 450 engine I think, and the tank would not fit if you dont modify this.Taffy had an idea about that but nobody try it.The other thing that might makes you nervous is that you have to drill your plastic to fit on the alluminium tank.I have bought an 7,5 l alluminium tank and is ready to install it,after the modiffications that I told you but my berg is on the doctor now for subframe repair. So I cant tell how it feels but as a lot of members said in the past, makes the bike looks lighter some kilos.
