I really like riding with my son

Everyone likes riding with my son. I've thought about renting him out at times. My son Derrik is a 13 yr old boy who is just a good kid that's a blast to ride with no matter what type of rider you are. I'm a beginner at 40 yrs old but many of our friends are advanced riders and they all beg for the the big "D" to show up and go for a putt. I like riding with Derrik because he picks such good lines and makes me a better rider. My advanced riding friends get a kick out of his aggressive style his and try anything once attitude. Derrik and I have not been able to do much more than day trips lately due to his other interest, but for the next four days it's going to be all riding and we can't wait.
Just thought I'd share .

that's cool... let me know when you guys go to hollister....I'm waiting for the epic wet hollister ride

My son Chris is 18 and just went into the Marines on Fathers Day of this year. He is the best riding buddy I ever had and since he's a better, faster rider than I, I feel he helped me become a much faster and better rider than I ever was before. Treasure the time you have with "D". They grow up way too quick.

Thanks for the advice Britt. dougn1 I'll be doing a trip to hollister Dec 11 so I'll send you a pm as soon as we're sure. I rode there 2 weeks ago and it's surely in need of a good rain.

All of us who have sons (or daughters!) to ride with are blessed....I have a blast riding with my kids (makes me feel young(er)!

P.S. Britt, A big SEMPER FI! to your son, he's a true hero, hope he's home safe and soon, it's guys like him who make Thanksgiving (et all) possible for the rest of us!

when I ride with my friend's sons, I like that age/ability where they are learning, but stay with youu all the time on your butt like a plaque even then in the tricky stuff you haul *** thinking you'll finally ditch them, but no they are right on your tail....2 months later they do the leading

I know the feeling. I was hauling *** on a jeep trail and tried everything I could to go as fast as possible and surprised myself (difference when you ride a real bike versus a turd) and when I turned around Kenny was still there with the WR 250F. Braaap.

But he did say for once I was going fast. Thanks.

Your clip brings back good memories. I used to ride with my sons all the time. Ol' Doc stayed pretty busy trying to keep 3 bikes running at once. Now, I've got my 3 year old grandson riding up on the gas tank on my berg, and he's smiling so wide you can hear the wind whistling through his teeth! What the last guy said. They do indeed grow up too fast (and then they smoke you on a quarter-liter rice burner). :D

He comes home on leave on Dec 12th. We will be riding as much as possible during that time too. Right now, he's at tank school in Ft Knox, KY learning to drive the M1-A1 Abrams. My Daughter will be going into the Marines in March to be a MP. Although she's 21, she was very impressed with what my son has gone though and wants to become one of few and proud. As for me, I was less nervous when she left for her first prom date.
