I need a couple of close up photos of the stock FE650 kickstand tab, so I can have one fabricated and welded on to my 05 FS650c. Not having the stand is a PITA when I'm out and about. Any help would be appreciated!
I'll do a layout later for you. I'll measure exactly where it touches the ground and post some measurements.
If you get a factry sidestand, bolt it in to the mount nice and tight, you should be able to place the foot on the mark I give you, tack it and be golden.
It's a piece of channel I think. It's 1-3/4" long and the rests (stops) are welded on the ends. Can't find my caliper right now. I'll have to look for it.
Have a FE stand on my FS, so keep that in mind. You may have to eff around with it to get it right.
Took some measurement of the bracket. It's NOT channel as I thought. It's 4 individual pieces I think. Plus a washer welded on the outside, and a nut welded on the back of the inside piece.
I drew a straight line and set the wheels on it with the bars straight. Here's what I got.
I use an FS650 side stand on my FE650.
Its about an inch and a bit shorter. FE stand was a PITA if you parked on level ground. The bike stood near vertical.
Now it leans over enough and i dont have to worry about it falling over again.
Dont use an FE stand or your bike will fall over.
cheers
