Hi all.

Long story short - i ran My Husaberg FE501 -01 without oil (had a big leak above cylinder)
Yes I know - Me stupid

But My loved bike went out with metal-noises and finally a big klonk!

Anyone of you did a complete rebuild - with all bearings, crankshaft, piston, 'cylinder-inside', seals and so on - and can give me somewhat of a guide in costs?
I noticed parts are way cheaper in the UK and USA. Sometimes more than HALF the price as in here in Sweden..!?

My friends keep telling me to get another bike - and I can almost and mostly agree.
But I Love My Husaberg and don't wanna let him go.

Mods like Taffy's beefy starter, AGM-battery, starter sprague and such has made my bike even more than just a bike.

Please lead me straight

And is it possible to fit newer parts in my engine housing and 'upgrade' my FE 501 -01?

Regards Jonny

Anyone who can recommend an online store for parts fitting My FE 501 -01?

As an example the
bearings kit 220081-01 in Sweden cost Almost £1700!!!
Crankshaft 210155-01 £786
gasket kit 260080-01 £180

So shopping in Sweden is not an option!
But all stores and sites I found just got parts for -04 and newer.

Is there any site or store with normal prices?
As far as I know Husa and KTM got the best prices when it comes to parts - but obviously not in Sweden.

Please help.

if cheapest prices are your goal try a mail forwarding address in the USA, shipito is very good.

Thanks guys.
I've contacted Taffy and searched some more.
Can't seem to find parts for an older Berg like mine though.
Parts for -04 and newer is not hard to find but for My -01 it's not so easy.

I haven't been able to strip it down yet.
But if I need let's say piston and cylinder - Will they fit from a later model such as -04?

Call dave at Moto xotica in CA I got all the bearings for my 02 for really cheep he is by far the best when it comes to sourcing parts for the older bergs and he really knows the old bergs give him a call his prices are better then anywhere I have found

Don't understand

2001 its not very old for my standads !!!

Here in Portugal you can find everything, and I'm sure that Taffy also can.

I've recently rebuild a 01 bike from scratch.

And yes you can update some things with parts from newer bikes, again Taff knows it all.

Parts online for the older bergs are hard to find berg-parts.com is ok for 04 newer but prior years Husaberg used their own parts numbering system that no one bothered to add in online and crossing parts over wasn't worth the effort due to the lower number of bikes actually on the market.

you don't want to go online to get this stuff FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

talk to people, get to know what is upgrade-able!

I've a customer with a 96 KTM, just slipping in a KTM cam complete bar one change to the sprocket - thank.you.Taffy.

I'm sure this site is gradually becoming cluttered with little old ladies...

how can you feel exhausted reading posts????

weird that innit.

Hi

If whant to search on-line this is the best I can find:

http://www.teile-katalog.com/

But this is OEM parts, and you can makes better deals than this with someone that knows his way arround, and you also can upgrade things.
