I have a question about the 380 kit.

The question is really quite simple, what is the reason to make a 380 out of a 450?

Too much power in tight wooded trails. Yes you can have too much power sometimes.

Soft manageable power is what you want in the tight stuff.

The mellower bike actually turns better and feels lighter due to less inertia from the bigger motor.

My buddy has a 380 and swears it feels 15lbs lighter than when it was a 450.

I agree...much lighter feeling when riding in the tight stuff...little harder to loft the wheel, but still capable...I liked it and normally I like the 450 and 550.

I've rode both an Fe 380 and an Fc 380. Both give you the impression of being 15-20 lbs lighter than a 450, but the Fc is much raster revving, a real barn burner of a bike. Its will be a real option for those who ride a 250 f offroad and would like a little more power and less weight, ( remember the 450 is 10lbs lighter than a CFRX/WR/TE 250 )

How many 380s are there in NA? Any forcast on how many will be sold / converted for the 2007 model year? Hopefully sales of Hbg will soon allow BMG to offer the 380 and 496 as production machines. But undtil then, we must rejoice that Hbg even offers the availability as OEM parts replacements, no one else does that!

Thats what I am waiting for as well. I know as soon as I buy a 450, the 380 will become available as a mid year release or something like that.

i get on my 400 and wring it's chicken bloody neck!

no need for anything bigger even though i have a 97mm piston and barrel just sat here waiting to turn it into a 450 long stroke motor.

i recently did a belmouth mod and i got more bottom end. it caused me trouble for the first time. i had to watch it - now though - i'm used to it. i'm putting out about 40bhp now.

while a 125 2-smoke can win open enduros, while a 250 - 4stroke can do the same you're all banned from saying 'why......?'

it's official

you know it makes sense!
