I finally realized

Well,

I finally realized what my 98 FE501e should do. A month ago, I put a new stator in and I finally tried the bike out today. Holy crap. It finally beats my FE400. With the new stator, the revs are near instantainious and I can give it full throttle in 6th gear without popping and dieing out----and it hauls ***. When I wasn't on the snow it was shooting a 25 foot roost out behind me.

I was thinking of selling the bike. But gosh, it runs so good now I think I may keep it.

It ran so good I decided to put the trials tire I got for the 400 on this 501. Hooked up better on the snowy road than the knobby did on the first run.

Make that 3 bikes, I bought an 87 Husqvarna 430cr (with wr lighting and fenders) last week. Just haven't changed my signiture yet.

Is that bike a '98 or a '97? My '98 has the flouro greeie/yellow plastics that fade heaps, where I think the '97 had the tidier opaque yellow ones like in the picture. I don't think there was any other significant difference between the models.

Now that you ask, I am not sure. When I bought it, the guy told me he had put a whole sticker kit on it and some plastic. I guess I will have to look at the numbers.
