Hydraulic clutch questions???

I just finished putting my new kickstart shaft in the bike and piecing everything back together. I adjusted the valves but have not added coolant or oil yet as to give time for the RTV to cure. When doing my once over the bike, I have found that during the last two weeks of everything being apart and on the floor that the mineral oil in the clutch has drained out and presume it is now in the crank bearings on the right side of the bike! I am thinking that once I get the bike up and running, I should change the oil after 5 or 10 minutes of circulation to flush the system of any small debris, residues, and mineral oil that might have found its way into the cases yes.... any other ideas or suggestions??? I will have to wait until morning to pick up some mineral oil to flush and top off the clutch though. Does anyone have any process or procedures for doing this? I think I remember reading somewhere that bleeding the system gets better results if done by bleeding up from the piston and through the master cylinder... any one ever done this or have a good way of performing this task? Kick start shaft went together without a hitch but one thing that gave me some concern was that the transmission paper gasket overlapped the rubber O-ring connecting the left side case to the transmission cover at the water jacket feedthrew. I was gona trim it up a bit but decided to leave it as is to see what happens.....
I also noted that my auto decomp has quit a bit of slack in it so I had to pull some of it out with the adjuster on the head but i'm almost at the end of the adjuster screw.... does this indicate anything??? Anyone with input would be gladly welcomed with comments of suggestions as this is the first time I have done any maintenance on the bike outside of oil changes and valve adjustments.

Regards,

it's recommended that you bleed up from the piston. you need to buy a husaberg/ktm syringe for this. it's a doddle to do. if it's been leakin-it's been leaking into THE GEARBOX BEARING and not the cracnk. fear not, mineral oil, especially in this very small dose, will do no harm at all to your engine and will mix well with whatever oil you run. i wouldn't do a thing.

however, to leak in the first place means that the two 'O' rings have gone west on the piston. you'll need to replace these.

as far as the paper gasket goes, well husey now make one that goes around the paper gasket. you can and should trim yours. if you have half pinched the gasket onto the 'O' ring you will now lose your coolant into the sump like i did back in July.

don't worry about the de comp cable.

you'll be fine!

I just did this back bleeding procedure on my husky. I had to replace the slave cylinder which is down low on the bike. A mechanic explained it to me. Get a plastic feeding syringe from a pet store and get some plastic brake bleeding hose. I got the hose in a little bleeding kit from an auto parts store. the husky magura sytem has an air vent down at the slave cylinder. I cracked the vent and bled the system down at firsts just to get oil down into the new slave cylinder. But what you do to bleed up or back bleed it is you losen the screws on the top master cylinder oil resevoir up top, don't take the cover off just loosen it. then you hook up your syringe and hose down low to the air vent I assume the husaberg has one? or some way to introduce the oil down low.anyways you push the oil into the system until it seeps out of the loose cover plate up top. Simple! well everybody says simple after they did it. I always notice that. This back bleeding way works well, its the way the Husky manual say you do this. I dont have my Husaberg yet, cant compare

Well, I may be a bit different, but I use a Mityvac pump. Uses a bit more oil, but you are darn sure your line is filled with no air bubbles in it. If you clean the can properly prior to putting new oil, there is no reason why you should not reuse the oil as long as it's new (the old one goes with the used motor oil).

So there you have different methods to pick from.

I am not the super expert but a bit of mineral oil in your gearing oil should not be such a big deal.

Thanks for all the replys mates, got r' done good. I do believe I need to replace the slave cylinder O-rings as you suggested Taff, don't believe I have an external leak so it must be slipping threw into the gearbox. I will get these ASAP and fix for good.... get r' done! Started the bike up and took her for a twirl today, man did I miss her! ran for a few minutes and dumped fluids, all clean, no signs of leaks! I'm gona take her out and let her run a bit in the morning, hope all the bits and kabobs will hold up. I don't plan on getting too far from the truck just in case. Will post more about things tomorrow. Thanks for all the help and useful information fellas, I wouldn't know what to do without your help and knowledge.

Regards everyone,
