All I can say is this bike is AWESOME!!! After flushing, bleeding the cooling system and mixing the coolant about 60/40(h20) and adding extra anti-cavitaion agents the bike does not even push a drop out. :D . This raised the boiling point enough yet still has good heat transfer ability. It seems to work good for me.
The trail that use to spank my dream machine now doesn't phase it, no fan and even changed my gearing back to 13/48 from 13/52...YAHOOOOO!!!! I live at 8,000 feet and ride upwards to 12k. The bike has about 40hrs and 800miles. She's a full on ripper, I can't even find any way to modify it at this time. This READY TO RIDE facet makes the bike well worth the extra initial expense.

set-up:
coolant- green ethylene glycol mixed 60/40 with anti-cavitaion additive
oil- shaeffer 15w-40 semi-syn diesel oil, s.s. oil filter
gearing 13/48
Akra Ti can
jetting- haven't touched it, fritz said he set sold it to me(new) one up pilot, one down main, from from stock. Always starts good hot/cold; stalled hot etc.
fuel screw extra 1/4 turn out over stock
Scott's steering stabilizer
Pro-taper woods HIGH bar(bent magura first ride  )
Checked valve clearances at 25 hours-still spot on

Any one else with a great improvement in overall bike performance after 20 or so hours?? Maybe I just ride alot faster now?? All I can say is WOW!! I love my steel horse!!

I believe BG makes An excellent additive too. My thinking is diesels need an additive due to compression ignition(20 to 1), the 450 has 13 to 1 compression ratio, very high for spark ignition. My science might be invaid, but i believe high compression gassers with cylinder sleeves may experience a similar phenemenon. While cavitation erodes blocks and sleeves, I believe it also affects cooling system efficiency. The air bubbles from cavitaion may be a catalyst to over-heating, especially in a system that holds roughly only 1L. If someone out there knows differently please educate me.

thanks :D

yup right about 15 hours, then definitely by 20 hours the bike gains this big down low, I mean right off the clutch down low pull power punch.

In the woods that wide ratio gearing makes you chase the next gear just a bit with each up shift so the result is you get FLYING real fast without noticing it. watch out for the trees !

Hi jzfe.Is this a water wetter type product?I checked with my local carquest and that number doesn't come up as a good number. Was the p # they use different from the one on the bottle? Thanks

It is an alkali based inhibitor, the number I posted is the one the bottle. I am at home and will check tuesday when I return to work. I think it is a substitute for the D.C.A. capsule present in cooling system filters.

Great info.

I am new to the Husie world and have been riding an 05 FE450 and an 06 Fe650. The 450 has been overheating on me. I was torturing it, and it got really hot. The 650 we had on the ride wasn't even working. Good to know that I don't have figure it out. Thanks...

If your looking for something new to do, check out www.2moto.net. This is what I do. We are putting it on an FE650.

Now that looks like just the thing to extend the riding season up here in the frozen north.Keep us updated when you get it on the Berg 8O
