Husabergs invade Texas--National Enduro Report

Russell Bobbitt had a bad day for some reason, I did not hear why.

Thanks to two days of high winds, the course was dry and dusty today. Only a few days before, the conditions were perfect. Oh well.

I think we had close to 400 riders total, and there had to have been at least 20 new Husabergs racing today. Husaberg's new big rig in the pits was impressive too. What a change in only two years! Lafferty's third place today puts him into the overall lead at this point in the series. Another first for Husaberg.

I worked the long course finish, which was the end of a super long and difficult section. Lafferty had the fastest time through the section and was on the gas big time coming through the section. Newcomers Mullins and Buttrick are insanely fast and have brought their GNCC speed to the Enduro series. Those of you that get the MAV TV channel on DISH Network--watch for the race broadcast.

Here's a picture I took of Lafferty on the gas up a hill right off the start early this morning.

Nice report.

Interesting to see how Lafferty's bike has the front fender drilled out. Was it especially hot for this race?

I think all of his KTM's were that way too.

We actually caught a good break with the temperature. I think the highs were maybe 70 degrees F that day. The start of the race was probably closer to 45 degrees F.

The day after the race hit 90 degrees F which would have been miserable.
