Hello.Hope everyone is well.I don't see much in the rags anymore about
Husabergs, nothing new there eh? Some 2007 KTMs came in locally. Is
Husaberg going street legal too? Just curious. Tim

HI Tim,

Last months Dirt Rider had an installment on their long haul test of the 2006 FE650. And I believe that in this months issue there is an add for Husabergs as well.

In the Cycle News coverage of the Vegas to Reno Race, in two of the classes Open Expert, and Open Amateur Husaberg's were 1st. I can't remember if they listed Ricky Bozarth, but, he did finish 5th 0-40 Open Pro @ 18th overal. This with some fuel difficulties related to the dry break fueling system. Rick rode the race without another rider, and unfortunately had a bit of a shunt 2 miles from the finish while nursing a flat tire.

I hope they do make a street legal bike, I might have to sell the 01 and buy a new one for dual sporting!!!

Upcoming media tests

We have a bike (2007 FE450) going to Dirt Bike next week, and one going to Cycle News in three weeks.

The Dirt Rider 24 Hour for 2007 will be 250 four strokes, we will not be participating.

Dirt Rider will test a 2007 FE450 though, I hope.

We're also sending a bike to Trail Rider for the first time.

 Looks like a big break through with DB eh? It will be interesting to see how the write up turns out. I am very glad to see that a test in DB in the works.

Good job Brett!!

I'm always interested in reading the bike reviews at Cycle News. They seem a bit more grounded.

Since there was all those "other" bikes at the 24 hour last year, would it or could it be possible that someone out there could sleeve/stroke down a 450 to a 250?

You mean due to the wild success of the KTM 250EXC that was a sleeved down 400/450 ?

Ummm no, the KTM 250 EXC was a great beginners bike that was a bit of a turd. I was thinking more along the lines of 250cc Husaberg off road bike that would make the CRF250X, and I'm sure soon to be released KXF 250 off road bikes look like the overweight, high maintenance turds that they are. And perhaps give a little competition to the KTM 250 XCF-W.

For 2007 KTM has 250XC,and 250XC-W 4 stroke models.With 6-speed
tranny's and E-start,lights optional,I expect these to be hot sellers.
Street legal 450EXCs and 550EXCs,KTM is moving forward. The new
twin cam(I think) 450SX will be under Mike Alessi next season.

Well as far as 250s go there was no more turd than the bike I just got rid of.

Tim, you know the deal with Husaberg, it's a niche brand, like Harley Davidson, who does not make 250s either.

It is just with all the money KTM is spending on new models you would think
they would support Husaberg better.
